Nancy Drew isn’t getting a modern-day update on CBS after all. The network passed on greenlighting its heavily buzzed-about pilot, which starred Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest) as a grown-up version of the famous teen sleuth who’s now solving homicide cases as a detective in New York City.
CBS has decided to pass on 'Drew,' the 'Nancy Drew' reboot starring Sarah Shahi, but the producers haven't given up hope yet.
The contemporary procedural starring Sarah Shahi tested well, but was ultimately deemed “too female” for CBS – whatever that means.

Sarah Shahi was set to star as the iconic detective in the drama from Joan Rater and Tony Phelan that is now being shopped elsewhere.
This is a shame: CBS has decided to pass on Drew, a modern day take on Carolyn Keene’s detective series Nancy Drew. The series is now being shopped around elsewhere.
